Acer's Iconia Tab 10 brings Android 5.0 to schools

Acer's Iconia Tab 10 brings Android 5.0 to schools

Acer today in New York announced the Iconia Tab 10 for Education. As the name implies, it's a 10.1-inch tablet running Android 5.0 Lollipop that's part of the Google for Education scheme, "bringing accessible technology and richer resources to classrooms."

The tablet's got a reinforced body (because you know kids these days, right?) and anti-slip textured coating. The display has a 1920x1200 resolution, the hole thing weighs a little more than 1 pound and is powered by an Intel Atom processor with 2GB of RAM and either 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of on-board storage. It's also fitted with Acer's Precision Plus sensors for better use with a stylus or even just a finger.

The Tab 10 for Eduction will run $299 in the U.S. and €299 in parts of Europe starting in May.
