Whitespace for iPhone lets you turn ideas, thoughts, and tasks into functional workspaces

Whitespace for iPhone is a new app that focuses on letting you get ideas and thoughts into organized workspaces. You can create as many workspaces as you want and create notes inside of them that contain images and attachments for reference. Whitespace also supports Markdown for easy export to another service or for publishing.

With Whitespace you can easily track ideas, thoughts, lists, todo's and more. Creating workspaces for different kinds of notes and tasks can further help categorize notes. A specific note or task can also be included in multiple workspaces which means you could theoretically use workspaces as they were intended or more as a tagging system if you prefer.

When it comes to actual notes and tasks, Whitespace lets you upload images and files to them for reference or safekeeping. You can also write in Markdown and use the shortcut bar over the keyboard to easily grab Markdown code and insert it as you type. You can also drag notes around in order to reorder them in terms of priority.

Whitespace is free but ad supported. If you'd like to remove ads, you can do so through an in-app purchase of $1.99. Whether you use the free or premium version, you won't be limited as to how many workspaces and notes you can store.

Overall, Whitespace has a great interface and design I only wish there was some kind of backup option whether that was a native solution with a login or through iCloud or Dropbox. I actually prefer the look and feel of Whitespace over many other note taking type apps but the lack of a syncing or backup option will keep me from using it to store anything I can't afford to lose.
