Google has released an official iPhone app for their blogging platform, Blogger. It supports multiple accounts and location information.
It’s great too see Google offering a native application for Blogger, but it irks me that in Google’s announcement, they refer to the app as Blogger for iOS. This implies that it is for all iOS platforms – but it does not have a universal binary. This is technically an iPhone app. Sure, the iPad has the ability to run iPhone apps, but you have to either run it all tiny in the center of the screen or hit that dreaded 2x button.
So, since Google says that you can now access Blogger from “your iOS device”, does this mean that Google is not planning on making it a universal app? Do they actually think this is good enough for iPad users?
With Blogger app for iPhone and iPod touch, you can easily publish posts with pictures, labels and location information. Also, you can view the list of posts and if you have multiple accounts or blogs, you can easily switch between them.
- Select account/blog if you have more than 1.
- Include pictures from the gallery or by taking a picture directly from the app
- Add labels
- Add location information
- Save as draft or immediately publish
- View list of saved/published posts
Blogger is available on the iPhone for free.
