Motorola warns of leaked Droid X Froyo; we show you how to roll back

Remember that leaked Froyo update that came out of the blue a few days ago for the Droid X? You do? Well, Motorola is really hoping you haven't installed it on your Droid X. Oh, wait -- you already installed it? If that's the case, Matt from the Motorola Owners' Forum has something to say:

WARNING: Do NOT load the leaked 2.2 upgrade that has been floating around on the Internets. There is currently no upgrade path from that load to the official 2.2 load that will be released by early September. Unless you have some plan to flash your phone back to the current official load, you could be stuck on the leaked version.

Rut ro, Raggy! Sounds like they're serious. The good news is that so are we, and we have instructions in our forums for rolling back to Android 2.1-update1. It takes just a couple of minutes, and you can find all the instructions here.

Oh yeah, and that Matt guy from Motorola, he mentioned "early September" for the official OTA update. So... that means for the rest of you -- just wait the few days. [Motorola Owners' Forum] via [Droid Life]
