Verizon LTE launches Dec. 5, phones coming in mid-2011

Verizon LTE launches Dec. 5, phones coming in mid-2011

Verizon LTE

For those of you waiting on LTE Android phones from Verizon, move along. Big Red's LTE site is now live and official, and it's only USB modems thus far. That's nothing to sneeze at, though, and we're pretty sure we'll see smartphones in the early part of 2011.

Verizon's about to have a presser regarding the launch of LTE. We'll have more on that if there's more to tell. [Verizon]

Update: Verizon's just put out the press release (read it after the break). Expect LTE-capable phones in mid-2011, with more info at CES in a month.

Pricing for LTE data is $50 a month for 5 GB, or $80 for 10 GB, with $10/GB overages.
