If you'd rather not risk your prior destination history getting snooped on in maps, you can easily clear it out.
Whenever you search for a place in Apple's Maps app for iPhone or iPad, your search queries are saved. The next time you tap on the search field, you'll see all the locations and places you've searched for in reverse chronological order. In other words, most recent on top. What if you don't like your prior searches to show up? That's the issue we're going to tackle today!

While there isn't a delete button, there is a way to clear all your recent searches. Follow along and I'll show you how!
This how-to is part of our iOS Help feature, where every week I try and help you fix the problems you're having with your iPhones and iPads. If you have a question or need help with something iOS related that you just can't figure out, I encourage you to drop a question in our iMore forums, no registration required, or send me an email at ioshelp@imore.com

As long as you're okay with eradicating everywhere you've been — which means you'll have to search for them all over again if you ever want to go back — here's how to clean it out.
How to delete previous searches in the Maps app for iPhone and iPad
- Launch the Maps app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap in the search field.
- Tap on Favorites.
- Tap on Recents in the bottom navigation.
- Tap on Clear in the upper left hand corner.
- Tap on Clear All Recents in the popup menu.
