Every week Apple adds tons of new media content on iTunes — music, books, movies and more. It's impossible to keep up with all of it, but it's not impossible to pick out the very best. Here they are! This week we've got soul and R&B legend Bobby Womack, a documentary about the life and death of Internet prodigy and activist Aaron Swartz, and much more!
The best of Bobby Womack - The Soul Years
Soul legend Bobby Womack passed away this past week at age 70. His career spanned half a century. He started out a child prodigy, part of a musical family from Cleveland, Ohio. Discovered by the legendary Sam Cooke, Womack came to national attention as a member of the Valentinos, later striking out on his own, with hits like "Lookin' for a Love," "That's the Way I Feel About Cha," "Woman's Gotta Have It" and many others. Those hits and many others are included here: This collection — 22 tracks in all — highlights Womack at the height of his creative and popular influence.

The Internet's Own Boy
Currently playing in theaters, it's is also available to rent on iTunes. It's the story of Aaron Swartz, who at 14 became part of the working group that authored the RSS 1.0 spec. He'd go on to work on Markdown with Daring Fireball's John Gruber, co-founded Reddit and more. He turned his attention to political activism, running afoul of the law after he downloaded a large number of academic journal articles through MIT's computer network. He was arrested and prosecuted; the pressure of it caused Swartz to hang himself. Was the government to blame? Put the pieces together in this fascinating documentary.

Unexpected Stories by Octavia E. Butler
One of science fiction's most unique and compelling voices, Butler is a true master. Unexpected Stories includes two never-before-published stories: "A Necessary Being," a novella that tells the story of Tahneh, a race of beings whose leadership qualities make them so valuable that they are captured and forced to govern. One day she must choose between capturing another of her kind or spending the rest of her life alone. The other story, "Childfinder," was commissioned by the legendary Harlan Ellison, and tells the story of a telepath who must try to help a young girl harness her growing powers.
