Seems not a day goes by at the moment without news of another Google app shutting its doors, and today it's the turn of Catalogs. While the service shall live on, the iPad app will turn its final page on August 15 alongside the Android tablet application. Google Catalogs will be available to access still via the browser, so at least you shouldn't lose any of your stuff in the process.
Catalogs was perhaps one of Google's more niche iOS apps, but it certainly scratched a certain itch for some folks. Google's seemingly never-ending streamlining of their mobile apps has seen services such as Latitude, Local and Shopper all incorporated into other, more used Google apps. Catalogs perhaps was a step too far in that respect. As with all the apps Google has retired, there will be some disappointed users sad to see it go. Are you one of them?
