Bing begins roll out of HTML5-enhanced search interface

Bing transitions
Bing's new HTML5-and-CSS3-enhanced search interface, which was first demonstrated back in September 2010 to showcase the power of IE9, has started to roll out.

The most notable addition to the new interface is is smooth page transitions -- the fade in and out -- and navigation tabs (maps, images, videos, etc.) now persistently float at the top of the page. WinRumors is also reporting that a feature reminiscent of Google Instant search is being added to Bing, with page elements smoothly transitioning in and out as you type in your search query.

If you want to try out the new Bing UI, your best bet is to set your locale to United States - English and pray that you're part of the initial roll out. Alternatively, just wait a few days until MIX 2011, Microsoft's Web developer conference, which is when the new Bing UI should be officially launched.

HTC Rezound ad pays Verizon stores an early visit, soonish launch likely

The above image isn't a leak -- it's a dye-in-the-wool, true-blue LTE poster that a few Verizon stores have preemptively hung up. We're pretty sure these adverts aren't supposed to be displayed for our eyes to see since they feature the HTC Rezound, a forthcoming 4G device that hasn't even been announced yet. Oops. Additionally, the handset -- featured front and center on the ad -- shows off a pair of Beats headphones dangling out of its 3.5mm jack. Are there any naysayers that still think the Rezound won't get its official outing at HTC's event this week? Count us amongst the believers.

Motorola RAZR and Samsung Galaxy S Glide possibly coming to Rogers next week

Motorola RAZR and Samsung Galaxy S Glide possibly coming to Rogers next week

Rogers phones

If the internal procured by MobileSyrup are correct, Rogers subscribers will have a pair of hot new phones to check out next week -- the Galaxy S Glide is slated for a Nov. 3 launch, and the MotoRAZR shows up the next day on Nov. 4.  The Glide packs a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.2 GHz processor, and a full sliding qwerty keyboard, and our Canadian office (hey Chris!) is itching to have a play with it.  The RAZR is super thin (7.1mm), has a 1.2GHz dual-core OMAP, 4.3-inch AMOLED, and the Rogers version may be bootloader unlockable direct from Motorola.  They both look like real winners, and should see lots of fans on both sides of the 49th parallel.

Hailing a cab in London with your Android phone? About time!

Hailing a cab in London with your Android phone? About time!

Android Central

For anyone who ever lives in, or has ever visited London, you'll know that hailing a cab can sometimes be tough. It's never quite as easy as it looks on TV, and sometimes can be quite treacherous. Now though, a group of enterprising London cab drivers are ready to launch a new service which makes it as easy as two taps on your smartphone.

The service, known as "Hailo" goes live tomorrow in the Android Market for free, and will allow its users to call nearby taxis without taking their lives into their own hands. So far 2,000 drivers have signed up to be part of the service.

The app will locate you via the phones GPS system, and any free drivers nearby will be able to accept the fare. You will then be able to see the drivers name, vehicle registration, how far away they are, and even pay a fare with your credit card.

Google+ Starts Breathing Down LinkedIn's Neck

With a slew of new features and integration with Google Apps, Google+ is now available to businesses, universities, and schools that use Google Apps. The point behind the upgrades is to continue to drive traffic to the fledgling network and fight the feature wars with other social networks, said Gabe Donnini, lead analyst at Chitika.
